To celebrate African-American Heritage Month, children and their families are invited to the Jazz Celebration program at the Fairfield Civic Center Library on Wednesday, February 13 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jazz began in the African-American communities of New Orleans in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is considered an original American art form. A trumpeter from Fairfield High School will play jazz tunes and answer questions. Children can make a trumpet craft that they can play.
This program is free to the public thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Fairfield-Suisun Libraries. The library is located at 1150 Kentucky St. in Fairfield. For further information call 1-866-572-7587 or visit www.solanolibrary.com
