10th Annual Children’s Day Celebration at the JFK Library

April 23rd    11:30 – 2:00

The John F. Kennedy Library is delighted to be celebrating El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day). This nationally recognized initiative, commonly known as Día, is a celebration of children, families, and reading.

The festivities kick off at 11:30 on April 23rd with Chilean born performer Mariela Herrera sharing bilingual songs and stories. Afterwards, there will be light refreshments and crafts. Participants will have an opportunity to talk with community partners that offer services to families in Vallejo. Children will have a chance to select one free book to keep, while supplies last. At 1:30, Ballet Folklorico Quetzali will entertain the audience with dance.

Día programs throughout the country are committed to linking children and their families to diverse books, languages and cultures.

Día activities at the John F. Kennedy Library are sponsored by the Friends of the Vallejo Public Libraries and First 5 Solano.

This event will be held in the Joseph Room at the John F. Kennedy Library at 505 Santa Clara St. in Vallejo.
