Library Offers Free English Conversation Class At The Family Justice Center

By Ann Miller

Solano County Library will begin a free, weekly English conversation club for English learners on Thursday, April 21 at 9 a.m. at the Solano Family Justice Center at 604 Empire Street, Fairfield.  The drop-in, one-hour program is for adults who want to improve their English speaking and listening skills in a small group setting.

Facilitating the program will be Tim Madigan, the supervising librarian at the Fairfield Cordelia Library where he leads a similar program on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.   Before coming to Solano County Library, Madigan ran an English conversation group at the Hercules Library for nearly five years. “I taught ESL in Korea, Mexico and Saudi Arabia before I settled down and became a librarian, so this is something that I am very excited to be doing,” said Madigan.
