Grand Opening of John F. Kennedy Library's Maker Space

By Laurie Hancock

The John F. Kennedy (JFK) Branch of the Solano County Library is announcing the grand opening of their Maker Space.  Solano County Library, along with just nine other libraries throughout the state, was chosen to take part in a state wide cohort and participate in a multi-year grant.

“The Makery:  Where Science, Technology & Art Meet “ is a collaborative space that is free and open to teens (13+) and adults at the JFK library in Vallejo.  The Makery will hold scheduled classes trainings, as well as have designated open hours, where customers are free to use the space and equipment how they choose.

Amelia Vander Heide, Supervising Librarian of the JFK library stated that, “The Makery will serve as collaborative community space for local innovators to create, explore, discover and learn.”

The grand opening event will be held on August 24, 2019 at 10:30am.

505 Santa Clara Street, Vallejo, CA 94590
