Poetry Slam Competition

By Jeffrey Kingman

All attendees will have an opportunity to get on the stage in the library’s Joseph Room and display their poetry slamming talents. Adults and teens are welcome to compete. There will be three judges. The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate from Provisions café.

Audience members who will not be performing are also needed and are encouraged to attend.

The host for the competition will be Jeremy Snyder. Jeremy says, “I was born right here in Vallejo, California. I have been writing poetry and prose for as long as I can remember. Although I have extensive experience performing poetry and spoken word on various stages, for the last few years I have focused on fostering a love of writing in others. I am currently the host for one of the longest running poetry shows in the bay area, Poetry by the Bay.”
