What              Queer Words – Celebrate Pride Month

A Pride Literature reading with authors Achy Obejas, Jon Wilson, Richard Loranger and Gar McVey-Russell.

In January 2016, Vallejo resident Wayne Goodman and his San Francisco-based partner, Rick May, began hosting their “Perfectly Queer” reading series at local, independent bookstores in San Francisco and Oakland. Their goal has been to bring queer-identified authors into bookstores to help support both the writers and the stores. Now they bring their series to the Vallejo.

Who               The readers will include Achy Obejas, author of the critically acclaimed novel “Ruins” and Director of the MFA in Translation program at Mills College; Jon Wilson, a 2016 Finalist for his mystery novel “Cheap as Beasts”; Richard Loranger, a writer of poetry and prose, as well as a visual and performance artist; and Gar McVey-Russell, author of the new novel, “Sin Against the Race” and writer of feature articles for the LGBTQ newsmagazine Ten Percent.
