Solano County Library branches in Fairfield, Vacaville, Vallejo, Suisun and Rio Vista are partnering with the Contra Costa County Library and the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano to boost food donations in area libraries.   During the months of October and November, every time someone donates food in a library Food Bank bin they will be eligible to enter a drawing for prizes from some of Discover & Go’s most popular attractions.

The Discover & Go prizes include free passes to the California Academy of Sciences,  Sky High Sports trampoline park, Madam Tussauds,  the Charles M. Schulz Museum and the San Francisco Dungeon.  An annual membership to the Cartoon Museum, Lonely Planet guide books and Discover & Go tee-shirts round out the list of prizes.  Entry for the drawing ends November 30.

“Food Bank bins are located in many of our libraries year-round. This is a fun opportunity to enter drawings for great prizes and at the same time give back to the community at all our libraries,” said Bonnie Katz, Solano County’s director of library services.

Discover & Go is a nationally recognized museum pass program developed by Contra Costa County Library that provides California library cardholders with free and discounted tickets to local museums and cultural institutions. Anyone with a library card can browse for passes by date or attraction, then make a reservation and print or download passes. The entire process can be completed online from the link at
