Auto Renewal FAQ

What is Auto Renewal?

Beginning July 1, materials will renew automatically 3 days before the due date. You may sign-up for email receipts through the Your Account feature on the Library’s website. Under Opt-In & Notification, Receipts is the last option. If you select email as your notice preference, the Library will notify you of the new due date via email.

When will my item automatically renew?

The Library will attempt to renew your borrowed item 3 days before the due date. If successful, your loan period will be extended for 21 days from the existing due date, an additional full loan period. If unsuccessful, the item will retain its original due date.

How will I know if my item was renewed?

There are a few ways to find out an item's due date:

  • On the courtesy notice emailed to you three days before the due date. Opt in to receive email notices if you haven't already.
  • Via your online account.
  • In person with a staff member at your local branch, or by calling 1-866-572-7587

Why won’t my item Auto Renew?

An item won’t Auto Renew if:

  • Another library user has requested it.
  • The item has reached its maximum number of renewals (up to 2 times).
  • Link+ or BROWSE items will not renew.

Can I renew items early?

You may renew early through your online account, in-person, or by calling 1-866-572-7587.

Can I opt out of Auto Renew?

Auto renew is an automatic process that applies to all cardholder accounts. If you don't wish to keep an item, please return it when you're finished.
