This message is from the Solano County Office of Emergency Services. An excessive heat warning has been issued for Solano County beginning tomorrow, Wednesday August 14th at 11am through Friday August 16th at 10pm.
High temperatures across the valley are expected to range from 100-110 degrees. The lows are expected to range from 70-78 degrees. Slightly cooler temperatures should return this weekend but are still expected to be in the upper 80s to mid-90s. High pressure is expected to rebuild over the area next week bringing additional hot temperatures.
Cooling centers are available at all Solano County Libraries.
You are encouraged to take the following precautions. There is a high chance of heat stress or illnesses to people or animals, drink extra water, avoid outdoor activities from 10am to 7pm, plan to be in air-conditioned buildings, and wear sunscreen and light-colored clothing.
Rivers are cold and fast moving. Practice water safety by wearing a life vest, keep an eye on children, stay hydrated, wear sun protection, and remember even experienced swimmers can lose muscle control.
