  • When are the branches reopening?

Solano County Library is preparing for a phased reopening of its branches. Below are the important dates related to the resuming of in-person services.  These dates are subject to change:

The Law Library reopening is yet to be determined; it will be based on the reopening of the county courts.

 

Please note: Solano County Library branches will be open to the public by APPOINTMENT ONLY between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Branches will be closed Saturday and Sunday. To best serve our community during this time, the Library has designated 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. as seniors-only hour.  All patrons must call 1-866-572-7587 to schedule an appointment. This service includes materials check out and computer use. One hour is allowed per visit. Patrons will be permitted one hour of computer use due to limited resources.

Curbside service will continue to be provided for those who prefer picking up their materials outside of the library. 

 

  • What additional measures is the Library taking to ensure the safety of its patrons and staff?
Face coverings are required for staff and public.  
 
Plexiglas sneeze guards have been installed at all service desks.
 
Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be available at service desks. 
 
Returned materials are quarantined for up to 72 hours before they are checked in and shelved.
 
 
  • Can I return library materials?

Yes! Book drops are open at all branches. 

 

  • Due Dates and Holds:

As of Monday, May 26, 2020, due dates will no longer be automatically extended.  Please return any items checked out before the closure or through curbside service by Monday, June 15. 

 
Beginning Tuesday, June 9, items will be held on the hold shelf for 7 days.  Until that day, any items on the hold shelf will continue to be held until  Monday, June 15.

 

No late fees will be assessed for items that could not be returned during the closure.

 

  • What resources can I access while branches are closed?

We encourage you to explore and use our digital and streaming resources: eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming movies, research databases, digital magazines, and newspapers are available 24/7. In addition, we offer many opportunities for eLearning--build valuable job skills or work on your resume, get one-on-one tutoring and homework help, all from your home.   • Can I check out more eMaterials while the Library is closed?

Yes! We have increased monthly limits for Hoopla and Kanopy.

 

  • I have fines and overdue items on my library account. Can I still access digital and online resources?

We have made some changes to allow access to our digital resources so library card holders may access Hoopla, cloudLibrary, Kanopy, Overdrive, and Tutor.com regardless of their account status.

 

  • Can I sign up for a library card to check out digital resources?

Absolutely! You may sign up for an e-Card and get 24/7 access several of the Library’s virtual services. With an e-Card, you can log-in and use most of our digital resources without visiting a branch. To sign up, visit https://ecard.splashlibraries.org/

 

  • Will there be overdue fines?

No late fees will be assessed for items that could not be returned during the closure.

 

  • What if some of my holds are ready for pick up?

Curbside pick-up is available Monday-Friday. Call 1-866-57-ASKUS (1-866-572-7587) to schedule a pick-up time.

 

  • Can I get materials for myself or my family? 

Yes! You may visit our catalog and place holds.. Staff can also assist with selecting items for you.  Call 1-866-57-ASKUS (1-866-572-7587) to speak to a staff member and schedule a pick-up time.
