Free Flu Shots at the Library
Solano County Library is partnering with the county’s Public Health Services department to keep residents flu-free this fall. The free, drop-in flu shots will be offered in six libraries, from 1-4 p.m. in the following locations:
Mon, Sept. 25 at the Vacaville Public Library-Town Square, 1 Town Square Place, Vacaville.
Thu, Sept. 28 at the Rio Vista Library, 44 S. 2nd St., Rio Vista.
Thu, Oct. 5 at the Suisun City Library, 601 Pintail Dr., Suisun City.
Wed, Oct. 11 at the Vacaville Public Library-Cultural Center, 1020 Ulatis Dr., Vacaville.
Fri, Oct. 13 at the Fairfield Civic Center Library, 1150 Kentucky St., Fairfield.
Tues, Oct. 17 at the John F. Kennedy Library, 505 Santa Clara St., Vallejo.
Free County Health and Social Services for You and Your Family
Onsite assistance with applications and enrollment for MediCal and Food Stamps. Behavioral Health support will be provided. Information regarding all Solano County Health and Social Services programs will be available, as well as assistance and linkages for community resources and housing resources.

If you would like to help the Library bring more smiles to local residents, please donate new, unopened toothbrushes or toothpaste at your local library. Bright yellow boxes are located at library branches in Fairfield, Suisun, Vacaville, Vallejo, and Rio Vista to collect new, unopened toothbrushes and mini toothpaste tubes. Solano County Libraries will accept donations through March 31, 2017.

A resource created by the Solano County Health & Social Services - Behavioral Health Division to help make it easier for people who use behavioral health and wellness assistance access services.
A digital version of the well-known print health manuals. Contains current medical information to enable more informed decisions for both patients and medical professionals.
Health information in from the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.
Contains Health Information and has an online Doctor Finder.
Collection of material about different types of CAM, such as acupuncture, biofeedback, herbal medicine, hypnotherapy, massage, and yoga. Includes discussions of conditions (by organ and symptoms), and drug, herb, and supplement interactions and uses. From the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC).
Provides guidelines on how to choose a doctor and check credentials/sanctions.
Drug Digest is a noncommercial, evidence-based, consumer health and drug information site. Contains information to research drug interactions, drug comparisons, and treatment options.
The official government source for those on Medicare or about to join up.
