Reach Out and Read

Reach Out and Read recognizes pediatric checkups as a opportunity to encourage parents to read aloud to their children. Doctors and nurses talk to parents of infants and toddlers about the importance of reading aloud to their children.  Medical providers also give free children’s books to families at each well-baby visit.

Become a Reach Out and Read Volunteer:

Volunteers read aloud to children in medical clinic waiting rooms.  Time commitment is 1-2 hours weekly. You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer.
