OverDrive Help for Sony Reader Users


Using a Sony Reader to read eBooks is easy. Titles can be downloaded directly to the Sony Reader Wi-Fi. For other models, simply download titles to your computer and use Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) to transfer to your Reader.  

 

You will need

  • A Sony Reader 

  • Adobe Digital Editions for Windows or Mac is needed to transfer eBooks to all Sony Reader models except the Reader Wi-Fi.

  • Your library card number

Directions

  1. Install software

    You can use a Sony Reader to enjoy eBooks from your library. With a Sony Reader Wi-Fi there's no software or setup needed, so you can get started browsing for titles right away.

    If you have a model other than the Reader Wi-Fi, install Adobe Digital Editions to transfer eBooks to your device.

    You'll need to authorize your computer and your Reader with an Adobe ID.

  2. Browse, check out, download

    Sony Reader Wi-Fi: 

    1. With a Reader Wi-Fi, open your built in Internet browser and navigate to http://solanolibrary.com. 

    2. Click on eBooks/eAudio on the homepage then click OverDrive-Library to Go and start browsing straight from your device.

    3. When you find an eBook you like, add it to your cart, follow the prompts to check out, and download it to your device.

    Other models:  

    1. Navigate to http://solanolibrary.com from your computer.

    2. Click on eBooks/eAudio on the homepage then click OverDrive-Library to Go.

    3. Next, check out and download an EPUB or PDF eBook using your Windows or Mac computer. The eBook will download into Adobe Digital Editions.

    4. From there, transfer the eBook to your Sony Reader. It's a simple drag and drop from your Adobe Digital Editions library to your Sony Reader bookshelf.

     

  3. Enjoy 

    If you downloaded a title directly to your Reader, simply find your selection on the home screen of your device and tap it. That's all there is to it.

    For other Reader models, once you have transferred a library eBook, you can read it just like you would any other eBook on your Reader.
