OverDrive Help for iPod Users

Using an iPod to enjoy audio titles is easy. All you have to do is check out and download a title, then transfer it to your iPod using OverDrive Media Console for Windows or Mac..

Note: If you have an iPod touch, please follow the instructions in OverDrive help for iPhone/iPad/iPod touch Users guide. 

You will need

• An iPod

• An iPod cable to plug into your computer

• OverDrive Media Console for Windows or Mac 

• Your library card number

Directions

1. Install software
   
   You can use your iPod to enjoy audiobooks from your library. You'll need OverDrive Media Console (OMC) to transfer MP3 or WMA audio files to your device.
   
   Note: Not all WMA audio titles are available to transfer to an iPod due to publisher agreements. A Windows computer is required to transfer WMA titles. 

2. Browse, check out, download 

   1. To get started, go to http://solanolibrary.com  

   2. Click ebooks/eaudio on the homepage.

   3. Click OverDrive-Library to Go.

   4. Next, check out and download an audiobook using your Windows or Mac computer 

   5. Finally, transfer it to your device. Windows users can transfer MP3 and compatible WMA audiobooks to an iPod. Mac users can transfer MP3 audiobooks.

    

3. Enjoy
   
   Once you've transferred a title onto your iPod, you can open it up just like you would any audio file on the device. You'll find WMA titles listed with your playlists. MP3 titles will be under 'Music'.
