Confessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro is a YA mystery book that teens may enjoy.
Tandoori, Tandy for short, Angel is a girl with controlled emotions. She is the daughter of Malcolm and Maud Angel, both successful and hardworking parents who have high expectations for perfection. When her parents Malcolm and Maud Angel are found dead in their bed Tandy, her brothers Harry, Matthew, Hugo, and their mother’s assistant Samantha are all suspected of murder. Tandy takes it upon herself to solve their murder and while investigating she finds out many secrets about her family.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were very interesting and one- of-a-kind. My favorite character was Hugo, Tandy’s little brother, who was a dangerous combination of being hyper and having the strength of an adult man. The authors keep you excited and entertained by throwing in little clues here and there and by revealing lots of new things that lets you discover new and deeper things about many of the characters. This book was a fierce read with many twists and turns and a wonderfully surprising ending.
I would recommend this book to teens that’d enjoy murder mysteries as well as surprising secrets that’ll blow your mind.
