Video Security Policy

To maintain a safe and secure environment for library users and staff, Solano County Library has equipped select areas with video cameras and video recording equipment. The Library provides notice of video surveillance at library entrances.

The purpose of video surveillance is to enhance security, deter crime and aid in protecting the safety of individuals and the property of the library. Security cameras are limited to locations that do not violate reasonable expectations of privacy.

Video surveillance and management of the video recording equipment will be conducted in a manner consistent with existing Library and County policies, and within applicable laws and ordinances. Recordings and photos obtained through the video surveillance system will be released in accordance with applicable laws.
