Olive, also known as Liv, has always distanced herself as far away from the myth of Atlantis and her father as possible. After her father left her mother and her when she was little, Liv eventually came to the conclusion of him never coming back. She had this assumption that he left this life with them to go on this ridiculous journey of finding something that, in her current opinion, does not exist. This hurt Liv deeply. It certainly doesn’t help when her father starts sending postcards along with a ticket to Santorini, Greece to visit him. Liv, after her mother practically forced her to, left her facade and life behind to go to this faraway place and get to know this mystery of a person for nine days. What could possibly go wrong?

Jenna Evans Welch did a very good job of creating a story that wasn’t just a world of black and white. There were layers to every character that I appreciated. Teenagers who like stories that have bits and pieces of culture and unfamiliar, exciting emotions will enjoy this novel.
