Teen Book Review- "Burn" by Patrick Ness

Burn by Patrick Ness

The book focuses on Sarah Dewhurst whose life was quiet… until her father hires a dragon to help them out on the farm. Although her father tells her to stay away from the dragon, her curiosity takes hold, and a shocking prophecy is revealed to her. At the same time, an assassin who is trailed by two FBI agents is coming to Frome, Washington, Sarah’s hometown, as a result of the prophecy. This is not even the most chaotic part. There are so many events that happen and none of them are predictable. The chaos and the number of surprising events is one of the best parts about this book. The number of diverse characters was also wonderful. Although, it could have been better if the author could have given more background and added more depth to some of the characters. This book is enjoyable for teens who love dragons, fantasy, and plot twists. These are just the main themes; this book contains a lot more which many teens might enjoy.
