Twisted Games, the second book in Ana Huang’s Twisted series, is a royal romance filled with forbidden desire, loyalty, and a slow-burn intensity that makes every page worth it. The story follows Princess Bridget von Ascheberg, who’s suddenly thrust closer to the throne, and Rhys Larsen, her gruff, overprotective bodyguard who swore never to cross professional lines-until their chemistry makes that promise impossible to keep.

This book leans heavily into the “forbidden romance” and “grumpy x sunshine” tropes, but Huang gives them new life with Bridget and Rhys’s dynamic. Bridget is a strong, independent heroine who refuses to let tradition or duty silence her dreams, and her growth as both a leader and a woman is inspiring. Rhys, on the other hand, is stoic, disciplined, and deeply loyal, but beneath the armor lies vulnerability and passion that Bridget alone gets to see.

The slow-burn aspect is executed beautifully every glance, every stolen moment between them builds anticipation until their relationship finally ignites. On top of that, the high-stakes royal setting adds layers of tension, sacrifice, and drama that make the romance even more compelling.

Huang delivers a perfect mix of swoon-worthy moments, steamy tension, and heartfelt struggles about love versus duty. Twisted Games is easily one of the strongest in the series and will especially appeal to fans of royal romance with emotional depth.
