The Solano County Library’s Literacy Program strives to make Solano County a more literate community by providing free tutoring to adults and families who want to improve their reading, writing, and English speaking skills.
Solano County Library’s Career Online High School (COHS) offers adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate online.
The Library’s program provides a limited number of scholarships to qualified adult learners who are looking to expand their career opportunities, prepare for workforce entry or continue their education.

The Library provides a variety of storytimes for children. The stories, songs and activities that are featured each week will vary from branch to branch. All library storytimes are free. Registration is not required, unless stated in the program description.

The Library subscribes to databases in which one can search a variety of records as well as learn how to do family history research: Ancestry.com, a genealogy resource with access to historical records and family trees for discovering, preserving and sharing family history. Test proctoring is available to the public at all branches of the Solano County Library system. The library’s ability to proctor tests is limited to branch operating hours and the availability of staff. Please contact your local branch by phone (1-866-57-ASKUS) or submit an e-mail to schedule your appointment at least two weeks prior to your desired examination date. The library will try to the best of its ability to fulfill all requests, but cannot guarantee test proctoring services.
