The Elsie M. Castner Oral History Project was made possible by grants from the estates of Robert F. Cocklin, Ruth Castner Cocklin and others.
The Dixon Public Library undertook this project in 1998 with the assistance of Chris Castaneda from CSU, Sacramento. The library holds the original audio and video recordings, and the text is available for patrons to view.
These interviews were performed by Chris Castaneda, Paul Ferrell, Terry Cook and Nancy LeRoy. The proofing and preparation of the transcripts was performed by Marilyn Costamagna, Shirley Parsons and Marianne Sommers.
The Internet Archive is a non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites and more. In addition to the Elsie M. Caster Oral History Project on our website, you can view more of the Dixon Public Library’s collection of recordings in video and audio format by visiting the Internet Archive. Digitization of our collection was made possible by the California Audiovisual Preservation Project which preserves California’s audiovisual heritage and allows online access provided by the Internet Archive.
